My Baked Hamburger Casserole

This is my recipe for a hamburger helper type meal but I do mine in the oven and don’t use boxed ingredients. Hope you enjoy:)

2 lbs hamburger
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 cup onions, sliced
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
1 can tomato soup, plus 1/2 can water
3 large potatoes, thinly sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup, plus 1/2 can milk
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat your oven to 350 F. Spray a 9 x13 casserole dish with cooking spray.

In a large skillet, brown the hamburger over medium high heat and drain. Sprinkle with garlic and onion powder.Spoon hamburger into the bottom of the casserole dish. Next spread raw onion, then celery , then green pepper. Mix the tomato soup with water . Pour the tomato mixture over the casserole.

Layer sliced potatoes on top. Mix mushroom soup and milk and pour over everything. Bake covered, for about an hour or until potatoes are tender. To brown the casserole, take the cover off the last 20 minutes of baking.
